Guru Purab Celebrations

Guru Nanak Jayanti, widely known as Gurpurab, holds immense significance as a religious festival observed the Sikh community globally to honour the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder of Sikhism. Organized by Gandhi House, the school celebrated this auspicious occasion with profound enthusiasm and jubilance.

 

To mark the beginning of the celebrations, a ‘Guru Pheri’, immersed in devotion and spiritual fervour, was organised.  Students and staff came together to embark on a symbolic procession, accompanied by the chanting of hymns and prayers.

 

A special assembly took centre-stage, shedding light on the fundamental principles of Sikhism and the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The heart of the program resonated with the soulful ‘Shabad Kirtan’ and ‘Ardaas’, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere that reinforced the profound teachings of the great leader. Shri Ranjeet Singh, a parent, graced the occasion as the guest speaker, who elaborated on the inspirational teachings of Guru Nanak Ji. Concluding the assembly, Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd.), Principal, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the pivotal role of a guru in one’s life. She underscored the importance of walking the path of righteousness with utmost integrity and honesty.

 

Following the assembly, the distribution of ‘Kadha Prasad’ symbolized unity and joy within the school community, fostering a festive spirit.

 

Overall, The celebration beautifully blended spirituality, education, and community engagement. It provided students with profound insights into the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, fostering a spirit of unity, compassion, and service.
