As part of community service program, Gandhi House organized a Nukkad Natak enlightening the audience on the importance of paying taxes. Through the skit, students of classes X and XI very effectively highlighted the problems and apprehensions a common man faces regarding paying taxes in the country- why should one pay taxes, where does the money go? What good does one personally get out of it? The skit also spelled out the solutions to it, the bottom line being- it is the duty of all to pay taxes and do their bit for the country’s growth and progress. It also brought to the forefront the importance of having a trust-building between the government and its people for there to be extreme honesty in the system. Overall, it was a very well-received act, which alongside entertaining the audience, proved to be highly educative in its subject matter.
