Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-15th August 2022

To commemorate the 76th year of our Independence and to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava, Salwan Public School Mayur Vihar –III, organized a cultural festival in school, on 15th August 2022.

It started with the speech of our Honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narender Modi to the nation at 7:30 am. All students present attended the online address. It was followed by the hoisting of our national flag by our Chief Guest Dr. P K Tyagi, DDE Zone 2 followed by singing of the National Anthem. The whole school premises was decorated with tricolor paper chains, kites, balloons and flags to symbolize our allegiance to our nation. The aim of this Mahotasav was to awaken the nationalist feeling in our young students through the glorious culture, struggle and achievements of our freedom fighters.

The program commenced with the Ganesh Stuti followed by the welcoming of the Chief Guest Sh. J K Yadav, Director CBSE Regional Office, by our Director, Brig. A.K. Tyagi Ji. Later Dr. Ashwini Setia, member of school management committee and Gastroenterologist at Medanta Hospital, warmly welcomed all the guests present and also awarded the meritorious achievements of our brilliant students.

The main highlight of the day, was the play “Pragati Gatha” presented by the students. It was written and directed by the school teachers and showcased the progress made by our country in the past 75 years in the field of Technology, Sports, Theatre and Education. It was all about the saga of our motherland, the glorious story of its people, culture and achievements since independence, highlighting various freedom movements and contribution of freedom fighters to make India an independent nation. The Chief Guest applauded the efforts of the students, staff and management for organizing such a praiseworthy program.

The vote of thanks was rendered by the HOD (Hindi) Ms. Meenakshi Arora.

Colourful kites flying in the sky reminded all the sacrifices of our patriots and freedom fighter for the freedom of our beloved nation. The day ended on a colourful and happy note when all the guests and students gathered for a Community Brunch in school
