Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated World Space Week with great enthusiasm, focusing on the theme of ‘Space and Climate Change.’ A series of engaging and educational activities were organised, showcasing the students’ creativity and knowledge about the crucial role space technology plays in combating climate change.
One of the highlights was the Astro Video Podcast Competition, where students presented insightful discussions on how space research contributes to climate monitoring and solutions. They explored the use of satellites for tracking climate patterns, deforestation, and pollution, emphasising the importance of space-based observations for Earth’s health.
The SAT (Satellite) from Trash Competition, demonstrated the students’ resourcefulness and understanding of sustainability. Using everyday waste materials, they created models of satellites, illustrating how innovative approaches can help in space exploration and environmental conservation.
In the Astro Toon event, students showcased their artistic skills by creating cartoons that depicted space technology’s role in climate change. These creative expressions highlighted the importance of raising awareness in a fun filled and visual manner.
Lastly, the Graphic Novels Creation Competition encouraged young writers to craft fictional stories revolving around space and climate change. These imaginative narratives reflected the students’ vision for a sustainable future, where space science is utilised to protect Earth’s environment.
The weeklong celebration instilled a deeper understanding of how space technology can aid in combating climate change, inspiring future generations to contribute their bit in taking appropriate actions to prevent the impact of climate change.
