The Early Child Care Educators are constantly given the opportunities to update/enrich their skills through the Workshops organized in collaboration with The Reggio Emilia Institute Italy, providing opportunity to learn through the masters directly. In order to experience "Hands on Learning", teachers underwent training -workshops at Italy, Korea, Ahmedabad.

This long journey in Early Childhood Education took its first step in the year 2002, right to the doorsteps of The Reggio Institute, Italy and opened up our minds to immense possibilities. At Reggio Emilia we got the opportunity to understand their philosophy and approach. We saw the classrooms, methodology, the environment and a different curriculum. It was scientific and research based.

In March 2007, Ms. Daniela Lanzi and Ms. Marina Castagnetti, pedagogistas from Reggio Emilia were invited for an extensive workshop based on the "Hands on Approach" to train our teachers and parents. The journey continued and our teachers visited Korea, wherein the potential of young children came alive on canvas, frescos and sculptures. It illustrated the Reggio Philosophy, through photographs, depicting moments of teaching and learning; explanatory scripts and panels, many containing texts of children's words, samples of children's paintings, shadow games, drawings, collages expressed through myriad materials/ modes like clay, light and colour, foil, beads, wax. Plethora of languages was used for expression in the displays. The tour provided us an excellent insight in ways to engage children in problem solving, communication and exploring possibilities.

Our next stop Riverside School, Ahmedabad made us learn, how land areas and unsuitable climate conditions could be re-cultivated and converted into working mines, the art of raising funds through street shows and to be able to adopt better teaching - learning programmes for the school.

Looking forward to explore more.
